If you are a big fan of a television show you might have the opportunity to see what happens behind the scenes at a show taping.
Yesterday I went to the taping of my favorite Disney Channel show, Girl Meets World.
So what happens during a taping?
Well for one thing taping for our show was scheduled for 5pm that day. Guests of the show are encouraged to arrive prior to 3pm but there is no guarantee as space is limited. So we got there much earlier than the 5pm call. We spent a lot of time in the hot sun, so make sure you bring lots of drinks and a book to keep you occupied or interested.
We were lucky enough to get in and they checked us into our seats. They usually let kids sit in the front (Yay!) Cameras are not allowed, but they said we could bring our phones in as long as they were shut off. It's a little cold in the studio, so remember to bring a sweater.
Then we had an audience Warm-Up Comedian get us hyped for the show! He was very funny and kept us laughing in between takes. He asked the kids to participate in some contests such as a dance contest, or a talent contest. I raised my hand right away and said I wanted to sing the Girl Meets World theme song! He let me sing after they filmed a scene and I won a T-shirt!
I can't spoil the episode, but the producer of the show came out to talk to us and told us that originally it was supposed to be a lighthearted episode.

The whole GMW cast |
It deals with Riley trying out for the Cheerleading Team. It deals with failure, determination, and support. That's all I could really say, but it was a very inspirational episode for something that was supposed to be lighthearted and fun.
When they were filming they usually have to film 3 different takes, but sometimes they filmed more, especially when the cast messed up their lines, which was hilarious! It was really interesting watching them redo the same scene over, because they would sometimes add different words, or show different emotions, or emphasize different things, so even if we watched the same scene over, it was always different.
Ben Savage (Corey Matthews)and Danielle Fishel (Topanga Matthews) had some really funny and touching scenes in this particular show. Sabrina Carpenter (Maya) and Rowan Blanchard (Riley) were wonderful in their acting and some of the ways they delivered their lines were so emotional that you couldn't help feel what the characters were feeling. This is an ensemble show, and the cameraderie you see with the characters seems so genuine.
After the show the Warm Up Comedian asked us if we wanted to meet the stars! Of course we did! He split the audience into two halves the left side go to see Sabrina and Peyton. The right side saw August and the other stars. I was on the left side and got to meet Sabrina and Peyton.

Sabrina and Alexis |
We are separated by a glass partition but the stars were able to reach over and give us hugs, autographs and talk to us. Sabrina was so nice and she signed my "Eyes Wide Open" CD. She was genuinely happy that I bought it. Ben Savage snuck in and also gave some autographs but had to leave fast.

Salma Hayek waving to the audience |
Rowan and Cory were backstage talking to some of the VIP guests so we didn't get the chance to see them. So who were some of the VIP guests? Well Salma Hayek and her daughter were backstage and got to meet all the stars. Salma did wave to the audience which was cool!

Ready to be a John Quincy Adams student! |
The whole meeting and signing process was really rushed and you don't get to meet everyone😓. The stars were all very nice and took their time to meet with their fans but it was a lot of people so the staff had to rush us through. In the end though it is a fan's greatest wish come true being able to watch our favorite stars perform and actually having the chance to meet them. If you are in the Hollywood area I suggest you do it once in your life.
